Cumberland Trail Forum – March 5th

Cumberland Trail Forum – March 5th

The United Riders of Cumberland, with support of the Village of Cumberland, has been working with local landowners over the past several months on formal non-motorized trail access agreements to ensure sustainable and long term access to our trails is secured. While UROC has not yet entered into any formal agreements, we have organized a public forum to update the community on the initiative and the benefits of formal access agreements, and provide you with an opportunity to ask questions and share your ideas.

Cumberland Trails Forum
Wednesday March 5th 2014 @ 7:00pm
Cumberland Cultural Centre (Second Floor, entrance is at back of building off of First Street)

TrailsForumPosterA guest speaker from the North Shore Mountain Bike Association will present their experience working with landowners in North and West Vancouver to secure access to popular trails. UROC will also use the forum as an opportunity to discuss the proposed Village Park Mountain Bike Jump Park and gather feedback from the community. This is a public event so please share this invitation with other mountain bikers, hikers, trail-runners, dog-walkers, naturalists and other non-motorized users of Cumberland’s trails. An agenda for the evening will be posted to Cumberland.ca and www.unitedridersofcumberland.com closer to the event. Please note that a separate event – a “Builders Academy” workshop – is being planned for the previous night, Tuesday March 4th, and is intended for active or future trail builders and maintainers. For more information on this workshop contact Kevin McPhedran with the Village of Cumberland. Please note that while both events are open to the public, pre-registration for the Builders Academy is required as space is limited; please register by contacting kmcphedran@cumberland.ca or 250-336-3012.
