I had the chance to take a couple attempts at the slopestyle stunts yesterday. I was totally disappointed. The first drop sucks because you have to slam on the brakes right when you land, even if you land on the wood. The next section is in pretty good shape but unfortunately I am in the 98% of riders than cannot do those stunts. Next is the step up/down and it looks pretty but I liked dropping last year's much better. Unlike last year, the gap distance on the step up is huge, the lip sucks, and the approach is nasty. For some reason there is a huge mound of dirt at the start of the platform ensuring that you won't be able to carry any speed towards the drop. The most traveled route was on the far right and it dodged the lip and allowed you to ride straight onto the platform. The only good thing is that they built the down ramp much safer this year so it's okay when you short the drop. After that should be a bonar log that would have been easy to attach a down-ramp and/or build up the tranny. They ripped both of the logs out. Then there are the two jumps at the end and the high-jump ramp. For me, these jumps are not doable at this point. Playing around on the 1/4 pipes at the end was a little bit fun.
When I have more time I will write about the lower jump park and the little skills center near Evil Eye.
I would enjoy reading a summary from someone else regarding their experience with all the new jumps.
