    Red Rotors Adventure

So four of headed down Jake the Snake and then started pushing up to Red Rotors. I am pretty sure only one person in our group had done the trail before. We did the first section and it was fun. Then we hit a fork and went right. It turned out to be the right choice even though the last part was made up of pretty loose dirt. We went across a little pond at the bottom and then we hit a river. There was a huge log jam there that we had to hike-a-bike across. From the log jam you can see the descent down to the river on the old route. It looked really steep and then there was a down ramp and little gap to a tranny and then the river. Experts only! At this point The Ferg showed me where to NOT step on the log jam as he got a soaker on his left leg up to his knee. KHansen and FGT managed to stay pretty dry on their dismount from the unstable logs. Ferg jumped and tried to grab a little tree for support but it turned out to be a big dead upright stick. Oops. Two wet feet for Ferg but I learned from him again and came out "unscaved". So next up was a bit of pedalling and nice flowy section that reminded me of the top of Rudy's Revenge. The flow stopped shortly after when we ran into like 6 blow downs. That sucked. Next thing I knew FGT was warning about the sketchy final section onto the road. She wasn't lying but all 3 of them cleaned it no prob and I didn't want to do a header onto the road so I wussed out.  Then we had a sweet huge uphill push to get to the start of the huge uphill push to Tomato Creek. SWEET. My face was pouring sweat. My face NEVER pours sweat. Tomato Creek was fun but quick then we had some XC action on a trail that might be called Blow out the Candles. Then we hit up the mighty River trail and made it back to the F-150.

Trails were damp but in pretty good shape other than the blow downs.

Thanks to Simon for driving us up lending me some gear and to KHansen for adding some name recognition to the ride.

Hah, I built that trail (Devils Inch) so you wouldn't have to do the log jam.  I was thinking of rerouting the end of Red Rotors so it didn't throw you into the road.  With the logging its very dangerous with the trucks.

Good trail that Red Rotors, off the beaten path, but a good time for sure. D showed us around there a couple seasons ago, and I still remember the hike up the hill in the summer sun with the logging trucks cruzing by.

Good times for sure! Man I love the trails up there!! Thanks for the post.....
