    The Gecko

I'am making good progress on this new trail on forbidden and the two trails that run down off it are mostly cleared out now. There is lots of salal and other nasty little shrubs and as i was crawling along with the mini lopper i was thinking ok this sucks progress is slow and the back says No.So i'am thinking i need a new kick ass trail building tool .I was looking at the weed wacker that i have but its just apiece of crap so i got me a new machine with brush cutter blades.I tried it out on some black berry bushes satisfying results.

A couple things i should say about the Gecko,The lower part is steep technical down hill and its Not going to be a trail for everyone. I had to think about wether i should  even cut a line down thru this sketchy lookin terrain but it was too good to be ignored. The other two trails off it are nice flowing xc so something for everybody its all flagged out in pink flagging and should all be ready in the spring.

Sounds like it's going to be another awesome trail for everyone to enjoy. When are you going to disclose it's location? I don't know if we can wait till spring, that's a long way off.

Well Terry its a whole lotta trail and definitaly my biggest effort.I 'am going to give it the once over with this new machine than you can see the trail better. The lower section will take awhile i'am coming down this long long down hill section in a series of lazy s's alot of side hill bench work that will look like the section above the Cabin but many times longer its some of the best looking natural terrain i have seen on forbbiden.Part way down is a double cliff huck option for big mountain bikes i call it the stone skip so it will take awhile but i got an early start this time.

    Re: The Gecko

I rode the trail today with the trials bike and its not as steep as i thought, so should be a much more mountain bike friendly trail. There is a treshold beyond which your just sliding down the hill like an unguided missile, not exactly good times. So that did'nt happen today despite the pouring rain and slippery moss and it should look pretty good by the spring.
