    Christini AWD Mountain Bike

    Hey all!

I just thought I'd drop a quick note to say I was thinking of purchasing a rare beastie called a Christini AWD mountain bike and I was hoping to get a little feedback from some of you more serious mountain biking people.

Some say it's more of a gimmick then anything but I'm not so sure. I really like the idea of being able to crawl over mounds of wet roots and tear though sand and mud a little easier. When the AWD isn't engaged it runs and handles like any other XC/light duty all mountain bike.

I was also wondering if I'd get laughed at for being seen riding something like that on the local trails.

So gimme your thoughts on this would ya?

Brad from Port Hardy has one - if you head to rumblefest this weekend you can talk to him... It's pretty neat system - the awd really works on wet slippery trails. He did have some bearing issues but overall was pretty good. I can get you his contact if you want...

Yeah, that'd be pretty cool. I'd like some real world unbiased opinion on these bikes. I've already talked with Justin Todd from Christini and he's been pretty honest about their bikes and their construction. He had some good advice also.

I've been doing some web research on them for awhile now and the only real complaints seem to be from people that don't even own them and have never ridden them. They've just eyeballed the bikes from pictures and started ragging on the design. I didn't think that was too kosher.

But yeah, I'd like to chat with that guy and get his opinion. Especially if he's put some miles on one and can give me an idea of how they hold up.

    Thanks!
