Great to see more tire tracks on the trail, I still have stuff to do there mostly improving some of the climbing sections its tough to get a perfect flow with the landscape so up and down.Things will be much better when the top access is improved. I would suggest letting the trials bikes run in the trail some more there are some pretty extreme down hill sections and it should be much better latter in the year.

As of sunday there are more tire tracks, eight of us went up pass the sign until we hit snow around 5 to 600 meters. The trail is easy to see,on the way down we turned right at the sign and hooked up with two sheiks. Still a lot of snow in spots but going fast. It was good to you ryder last saturday, hope to see you for a sunday ride. Cabin Fever is an awesome trial, good job ryder!!!!!!!

Good to see its getting used and not just a hiking trail for the dog and i.I have plans for some more interesting things to ride over in the logged area and some more stuff further up.When i get the Cabin finished i'am going to leave a quest book in there for people to sign, even just a first name as an indicator of just how many hikers and bikers use the area i think it would be interesting to see just how many people pass thru there.I think if a person puts in a good effort maybe when it does come time to log the area the Cabin will be spared.

I've been reading about your trail for months now, and I can't wait to get a bike and try it out!

I hope the area won't be logged... it's a shame.  If you look at vancouver island from google earth you will almost puke from seeing all of the clear cut blocks. Too bad it is part of the backbone which makes Canadas economy.

The Cabin Fever trail could use some more running in but is ready to ride.To find the entrance go down two sheiks about 150 yds down the road past good enuff there is acouple of boards blocking the road go in to the right. This was an existing trail that i have done some work on to make it easier to pedal. The trail goes thru a thick wooded area then comes out on a bluff with larger tree's the trail starts here, to the left there's a sign follow the orange flagging. When you pass the Cabin stay to the right and follow that old skid road down crossing the Dirty Jane trail this will take you down to the start of KMA trail. The trail is designed for the all mountain type bike but could probably be ridden with a xc bike some drops around 3' and some steep sections just ride what your comfortable with.So there it is check it out something new.

I'am going to be adding some xc options to the trail using some old road beds just because i think we need more of that. This should make it more ridable for everyone and not just acouple dozen extreme dudes and dudette's.

    Re: Cabin Fever Trail

I got started on the Cabin Fever xc route and it looks really good .The trail will look alot like the rats tail smooth fast single track. I had a rocky mountain element and would be totally comfortable riding this trail with this bike. There is still some work to do but not much the trail will come off the Cabin Fever trail near the top use these old road beds than down along the creek connecting back with the main trail at the Cabin. From there its down hill again to the KMA trail.

I started the new bridge over the creek on the Cabin Fever xc route. There was a fur tree that was blown over which was good for the stringers and there are some nice old cedar logs laying around. It is amazing how good the wood is in these old cedar logs that have been laying on the ground for who knows how long.

Took the dog for a walk to check out some of the trail and clear out the lower access road to good enuf with clippers. Nice looking trail - some beautiful sections in there - have to do a ride up / down this week.

I rode down the c.f.x.c. route today on the Reign x1 i wanted to see how it flowed and if it was worth doing more with it.This route pretty much rolls from the top all the way to the Cabin. This route just needs more running in and berm some corners, i'll need to make a few changes to the section down beside the creek once thats done it should be a fun fast run.
