Ths is going to require a whole lot more rock.  There is no cedar in that area either so we are trying to get some wood up there for the cribbing.

I am hoping to be well enough Universe, MS sucks sometimes. There is two others from our crew who will be there, Shane and Steve and I am trying to encourage more.

     Hey Hugh,

Do you still need some roofing metal for the cabin? I got ahold of about enough tin to take care of the roof on that place... or is it too far to make worth while getting it in there.

I have been working on getting some free stuff left over from job sites i,am working on but that could take awhile, it usually gets used for someones wood shed. So yes i could definitly use it.The roof is almost ready for it, some more strapping and stuff to do. Its roughly 12 x10 so 4 10' at 3' coverage or pieces and its not that far to pack it.The Cabin is in a nice spot beside the creek a pool of clean water right in front i'am working on the big hill above it now. Working on a bench and berm so the decent is some what controlable. If the plunge does,nt get done on friday let me know and i'll help finish it off.

There is no way it'll get done.  Let me know if you want to team up on some weekends to do more work.  I will have weekends freed up for a while now.

Nice husky, yah i want to work on the plunge i'd like to ride it with my new reign x1 some day and not end up sampling the soil and rock or whatever.Another thing thats on the list is replacing the round decking on the bridge on the dirty jane trail. Bob and I discussed this and we both agree that it sucks.I now am somewhat handy with the hammer and froe and will be making some nice split cedar boards for it.

That saw is far too clean! Nice though.

It's official, I will not be attending trail day, the doc has signed me off working and driving for a couple weeks guys so I owe you one. When I'm up and around again I will happily join you two for a building session to finish Plunge or to work on the Fever. Hope it all goes well and loads of people show up!

Well I'm sure a nice big batch of chili might be a great idea for our next trail day!

It's only clean because I try to take care of it.  New chain on there too.  Its done its fair share of cutting.

Lots of trail days coming up, and I'll be going up on weekends starting now.

When i was shopping for a trail building saw what i wanted was a saw that would fit in a back pack and was light, so an Arborist type saw with no rear handle and a small bar.The saw that was my first choice was the Husqvarna 338 xpt then i looked at the Stihl ms 192T the price of these saws was a shock so i settled for the Echo cs330T.The Dakine builders pack would take either the regular or the arborist type saw and really looks well thought out. Maybe someone should buy this pack for you on your birthday Universe i think you'd put it to good use.

Those small saws are nice.  I have an old Homelite Super 2 waiting in Victoria for me.  Same idea.  I like the bigger saw for some big cedars I have found and for cutting firewood.   I blew my backpack up on the last trail day so I have to get one of these builders packs soon.

The builders pack can definitely handle bigger saws as well.  Holds my MS 290 fine.  I keep thinking about getting a smaller saw, then I go out and clear some 30+ inch Doug firs off the trail and realize I need a bigger saw for up here.  I'll post up a review of the builders pack and some pics of it in action in the next week or so .  I definitely recommend the pack, but there are some things about it that could easily be improved.

    Re: Cabin Fever Trail

Last friday i brought up some wood for the Cabin and noticed mountain bike tracks on the trail. Someone pushed and carried their bike all the way to the snowline than rode down, i just was wondering what they thought of it maybe its someone on this site.
