Removing jumps from the path to the lift for beginners is a good idea and may have prevented this tragedy from occuring if they had done it sooner. Fixing the top of the eagle so the lowest common denominator does not have to transit dificult terrain to reach easier trails should also be a priority.

Pretty sure it's closed right now while they dumb it down for the rest of us.... Hopefully they don't go too far.

last year they really didn't take out too much stuff - just built the case platforms between takeoff and landing... hopefully this year will be the same. Probably take the high jump out.

ya i sent them an email(knowing it wouldent do any good) just saying i i totaly see why they dumb it down, but not to under estimate us locals who are very capeable of riding the course, hopfully they dont take out the hi jump lip, or touch the last jump at all for that matter, that thing looks mint!!

It seems that the bigger stunts on this year's course will be more difficult to platform. The distance to the trannies on the bonar logs is pretty big. I assume they will rip at least one of these out. The step down is like 5X wider than last year. I assume they will funnel it off with barricades and ramp it near the middle. There should be no problems with installing platforms on the double at the bottom so dont yu wory cvripper.

this is mount wahsignton were talking about, i have to worry, the last jump has no gap soo hopfully they just dont touch it, i think the bonor logs look soooo fun soo hopfully they dont screw that up to much the middle step up drop shoudlent be to hard to case proof, same thign for the first drop. Other then that they should keep it the same(maybe take out 1 of the hitching posts)

I made it up by like 4:30pm on Wednesday. It was cold and foggy but not windy at all. I rarely make it up by 4pm so I thought I would put in a good session on the eagle for the first time this year. So I took Hustler over and it was totally shut down. I rolled my eyes, told myself to be thankful that we have a bike park at all and headed back to the Hawk. From there I did a full tour of the Hawk. BB was in ok shape. I finally aired out a bit on the wood step down gap that is on the first section off the chair. They added a couple new berms near the top of the the trail. The first one is adequate but the little second one should be filed under  "how not to build a berm". I did W next and was impressed with the work that has been done through the wet section that begins just above the wood bridge. It is very smooth and the new dirt doesn't have any huge rocks in it.  Then I did HS and made the mistake of laying off the brakes right at the bottom of the first steep section. I bounced off a root and hit a tree head on so hard that it took the paint off my integrated stem. My wrist hurts really bad today so I won't be up tonight for the Lucky Thursday race. It is MM tonight; I wish I was healthy because I would like try to go 5:30 on MM. Last week I raced chainless and managed to win a set of Dangerboy bar caps in the prize draw. Fun times.
