I am awaiting a reply from a certain big box store regarding probable donations including a box of 6 and a box of 4's. Should be soon... I will let you know.
If there was some way builders could get any kind of a deal (ie not a donation) from a certain big box store I am sure the Campbell River Club would be interested in purchasing some boxes of nails for building.
Unfortunately this certain big box store cannot produce any sort of price reduction unless you are a certified contractor with a contractors card account and it's just not worth it unless you're spending lots. They will however, donate goods to worthwhile community causes and as this certain big box store helps the nsmba they became the target for proposals. They can offer goods of a small amount at a store level (meaning the manager decides) but for anything major (over about 500) we need to apply online to the head office. If you want more info as to who to speak to etc, as the CRC may be able to apply (you've nothing to lose), then email me at forbiddenfreeriders@yahoo.com.
Also, Universe, this very nice... and a request..
.
please put in one of your great bridges to link all this together...
I will help if you wish and donate some nails, as this section so needs some love.

Where is that on the trail?
Cedar found and rungs started.
The bad section is right before the newly built log ride (not built by you) at the Stotan end. Are you redoing the very first bridge by the trail head? If not I will do it in a couple of weeks.
I was going to do that one. You can if you get there first. There are off cuts at the trail head (stotan) that you can use. I get them all the time.
Saw those which is why I asked. Existing bridge is knackered. Good to see another old geezer sitting at home on the tinterweb on a saturday night!!
In my defense I have been drinking. Yea the existing bridge is tired. I'll be getting more of those off cuts soon...maybe tomorrow. My plan was to do all of those spots. Feel free to grab anything but let me know if you in case I should get more supplies.
Thanks goes out to Jeff at Trail Bikes for a donation of 4 inch spiral nails. Thanks man!
Moved the lumber from the trailhead to the bridge today and there is not quite enough to do all of it. Were you planning to save some of the existing one? Can't do too much at one go at the moment so that's all I managed today but I shall be back with some plans. Hoping to use an existing rock as the bridging pillar for strength. Props to Trail Bikes, good on ya mate!
I'll be bringing more in tomorrow.
Dropped off some more wood. Wasn't a ton of stuff at the mill, but there is enough to finish that bridge.
Perfect. Have a nice 6x6 cedar post to cut and use for the supports. Should be strong and will last a while! Probably get everything ready and complete it on Saturday with a couple others.
