"Mountain Bike trails expect to open June 30 (snow melt permitting!)"

The above quote was part of the daily snow report that hit my email box. I still think a July opening is MUCH more likely than June but June sure would be nice.

More warm days like today and the mountain will open up sooner than later!!! 

Was up today to check things out. snow is almost all gone, with the green face 90% clear - should be up for building the slopestyle pretty soon.  

 

Every time I looked up at the Mtn on the weekend it looked like it was pouring rain. That helped no doubt. I was planning on heading up with my kids on Friday if it is nice. I can pick up my pass and take a scenic chairlift ride. I am getting PUMPED up for the 30th.

word is that even if there is a bit of snow still to disappear, they would open for biking before the long weekend. Biggest thing for the trail crew is repairs from the winter storms. Big Brother has lots of upturned trees which ripped out sections of the trail. The trail crew now has a mini excavator for the summer which should help quite a bit.

Went up the mountain last night with Fiona, Ferg and Kyle. Shuttled up to about the midpoint on the hawk to have and early photo-shoot. Loooots of snow still. Most of the trails look to have been dug out, Still lots of work ahead for the trail crew. Pretty soupy as well in spots. Looks good all together though, Can't wait!!! 

Hey All....

A couple of buddies and I are planning on coming up from Victoria to ride for the 4th of July, an word on the trail conditions as of right now? How has the weather been? I know it has been shitty and raining here in Vic, but it has warmed up a lot....

 

Just stoked to get back up for some sweet lift-access goodness. Looking forward to it!
