Hope everyone has been enjoying the local trails lately. There have been some really busy workers out building and repairing a great number of trails locally in Cumberland.
I'll try to do a rundown of all the various updates.
Bucket of Blood - trail above Forest Dump has been saved from logging. new trail to be built through clear cut when the weather gets cooler and damper.
Bear Buns - New trail built parallel to Perseverence Creek turning right from Bucket just after Dodge Balls. Still quite fresh but should be a very scenic trail when finished.
Logging of lower Bucket - the logging seems to be finished and when they removed their machines a new version for the lower sections of Bucket has been cleared. Should provide for some really fun build options. More to come this fall.
Allen Lake Trails - new trails built before the BC Bike Race connect the Trent River Main to Steamdonkey and Teapot. The old cordury road travels through some scenic forest and heads by some very old service bridges. A couple of trestles lie in ruins near the trail. Good for the XC and all mountain bike crowds.
Sykes Bridge - built just a few weeks ago, this bridge connects new and old as it crosses a former logging bridge site across Perseverence Creek. You will remember this location as where the trail sections of Bucket dropped you onto a road bed near the creek. Join this one after travelling down Bear Buns to jump over to Teapot.
Bear Highway - some rebuilding and new trails were built this spring near the old Bear Highway, along with repairs on Sub Human and Cherry Picker. Check the map for updates.
Post a reply if I've missed any of the updates and have good fun exploring the new trails.
