when for a muddy/snowy ride today. Rode: 2 & a juice, buggered, shaker, entrails, soggy biscuit, black hole, orange peels. The mud was pretty bad but had a lot of fun. No trees down and entrails is shaping up nicely, love the dh section at the end.

Managed to get out to Tied the Knot today after 3 weeks off building with Steve Tucker and finished the wooden section on the hill.

Props to Steve who did all the lifting and hauling. Thanks bud.

Yet more pics pasted from Pinkbike as I can't work out how to post 'em here:( My fault...

Steep section is now cleared        Old logride entry before.....                               After.                                         During.

Click on pic for larger image.

The logride entry bridge will be re-slatted and the lower easy bridge is the old riser bridge onto root. Still slippery but covered with roof tiles and it will do for now.

nice work on the cleanup.  scenes like that before pic can really give mtb'ers a bad rap.

You're so right! I have met about 20 walkers on this trail, a couple even tried to haul their stroller and baby through there!!! That has been the hardest part of this trail reno, making sure that there is a footpath next to each and every stunt. Sometimes it's a bit tight but they can still walk through, maybe not with a stroller though. Most have thanked us for the work and this attitude will give mountain bikers a good name. It seems we are like the trail stewards around here.

For Universe and his cedar fetish. Thanks to Dylan and Derrick who donated this pile of the good stuff and the nails for half the work. Cheers boys.

We couldn't get to the official trail day (hope it went well) but got into Tied the Knot again and built a bridge across the stream at the bottom of the steep section.

View down trail                   Rock entry            Wide entry because it's on a corner.

Pity the Fool (that would be me - the fool)

Sooooo - a couple of weeks ago I finally go to ride Grub, Stub and "Pity the Fool" in Cumberland. Great trails except for one of the exits. The exit in question dumps you onto a logging road down a very steep slope into a recently repaired ditch - in a nutshell - unrideable.

So - being the "smart" guy that I am I got a hold of a big chunk of 18 inch pvc drain pipe - free! So - I head up today after work and for some reason I got it stuck in my head that the exit that needed work was "Pity the Fool" - the last trail in the series of three. So - I take my big piece of pipe (it's like 8 feet long) strap it to the bike trailer and haul it from Cumberland Lake Road to the bottom of "Pity" only to find when I get there that the trail exit is just fine!!!

WTF - I must have had trail exits confused - maybe it's the exit to Stub? So - I decide to take my bike, leave the pipe and hike up the trail. Only to discover, after about an hour of hiking that it's actually the exit of GRUB - the FIRST trail that needs work.

So now, dumbass here needs to get this:

From here (exit of "Pity the Fool"):

    to here (exit of "Grub"):

Sooo - I either need to hook up with someone with an ATV to yard this sucker up the right fire-roads or someone with keys to the gates so I can put the stupid thing in my truck and drive it around to the right spot!

    GAHHHH!!!
