yup, old ways are the most reliable ways. I quite like the folding barrow but not sure about the strength. A barrow without the front frame section exposing the front wheel would be good. The hand truck (thanks flow) work better than I thought it would as long as the trail is fairly level and the tires are pumped up well. Another idea for slats is a bricklayers backpack. Bastardize an old strong backpack and secure a wooden frame in a 'L' shape. You can then stack the slats and strap 'em in. Brickies load them up and climb ladders cause you still have both hands free, great for hiking wood in.
I walked 'Tie the Knot' today and it's well dodgy and old structures either need rebuilding or taken down. I would like to rebuild it to a moderate skill level freeride trail. There could be a few drops to transition at about 2-3' high (no gaps), another logride, a new entry to the existing logride and a couple of suprises. Nothing too dangerous or challenging but it could be a fantastic session trail for those wanting to improve their freeriding skill level. Someone's got to build 'em while you boys 'go large'. It could only be an improvement...
