Twelve Hours of Cumberland Race / Relay - June 21, 2008

The 5th annual Twelve Hours of Cumberland is happening this weekend, Saturday June 21st. This is a fun focused mountain bike relay, based out of the family friendly No.6 Mine Park in Cumberland.

The course is beginner friendly and includes trails like Momma Bear's, Soggy Biscuit, Black Hole and Space Nugget. Registration is at the No.6 Mine Park from 7-8am the morning of the event with the relay beginning immediately following. The objective is to see how many laps you and your team mates can do over the 12 hours (8am to 8pm).

Participants must be a member of a Grass Roots Mountain Bike Association affiliated club or you can purchase a $10 one day event license. Either option can be done at registration on the morning of the event. You can register as a team of 2 or 4 or if you are really committed, go solo! The cost of the event is $35 per person and includes draw prizes and Scott Beardsley pottery mugs for category winners. There will be kids games throughout the day and a BBQ.

This event is brought to you by the United Riders of Cumberland and sponsored by Seeds Natural Food Market, Eatmore Sprouts, Mount Washington, Riding Fool Hostel, Dodge City Cycles, Trail Bicycles, Mountain City Cycles, Cumberland Community Forest Society, Village of Cumberland and Hancock Forest management.
